Profile:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more business units and systems. The Project Manager will manage project activities, resources, schedules, budgets and adhere to milestone quality and controls throughout the full project life cycle. These responsibilities also include management of risks, issues and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Project Manager should contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis, verify that the project produces the required deliverables, meeting or exceeding the customer’s criteria, within the constraints of time and cost as specified in the project’s Statement of Work. 

Essential Duties:
Serve as the SCG project manager  on Lead-to-Cash systems and process  transformation projects - you will serve as the primary liaison between the SCG Consultants and Customer functional stakeholders and project sponsors.   Representative duties and responsibilities would include the following:

  • Facilitate project alignment and governance with the Customer and SCG Consultant team
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing SCG representative on projects, and the first point of contact for project escalations
  • In coordination with customer, plan and schedule project sessions such as Project Kick-off, Recurring Working Sessions, Weekly Status, User Acceptance and End-to-end Testing Sessions and Steering Committee meetings
  • Maintain and communicate weekly project health and status
  • Develop and maintain Project Plans
  • Manage Project Scope, Timeline, Resources, deploying Risk & Issue Management, Change Management and Change Orders, and Escalation Management as required
  • Provide a clear roadmap for the SCG Track Consultants to ensure their tracks are producing timely, high quality work products and deliverables as documented in the Statement of Work and Project Plan
  • Motivate team members to meet project goals, adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Ensure adequate resources are assigned to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional team member and customer communication
  • Ensure all SCG deliverables specified in the project’s Statement of Work are complete prior to project closure
  • Understand interdependence between technologies, operations and business needs
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication
  • Engage in continuing education to advance Project Management, Business Process, Salesforce, and/or NetSuite skills, such as self-study or instructor led training, seminars, certifications, etc.
  • Assist in building Leading Practice repositories of repeatable, scalable processes

Minimum Role Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of combined experience in technical systems/software consulting and project management of technical systems/software projects, with at least 2 years of concentrated project management experience.  
  • Demonstrated ability and history of managing  multiple technical projects simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency in developing and updating Spreadsheets (such as Excel or Google Sheets) and Slides (such as Powerpoint or Google Slides)
  • Advanced proficiency in Project Management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet and Lucidchart
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Occasional Project-based travel to customer sites for kickoff sessions, user acceptance events, launches, etc.  Travel is estimated to be 15% or less. 
 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with Salesforce and/or NetSuite
  • Experience working with software companies and private equity-held companies
     

Work Hours, Availability and Responsiveness:

  • Regular business hours are 9 am to 6 pm CST, regardless of whether working on site or remotely, unless a customer engagement establishes different working hours
  • Attendance/participation in customer meetings and calls is a critical part of our business – availability (or lack thereof) must be clearly communicated in advance
  • At all times, your manager must be made aware of work schedules, work locations, personal time off (“PTO”), etc. PTO must be approved in advance and may be subject to limitations depending on customer projects and key milestones/delivery dates
  • Unless on approved PTO, all emails and phone calls must be responded to within one (1) business day, but preferably, by end of the same business day

Working Environment/Special Demands:

 
  • Combination of in-office work and remote/home-based work
  • Extended periods of time interfacing with a computer
  • Extended periods of time sitting
  • Open-office environment where background noise is common, including phone calls, ancillary conversation, traffic, etc.
  • Occasional project-based travel to customer sites for kickoff sessions, user acceptance events, etc. Travel is estimated to be 10% or less. Most projects require no travel
  • Occasional travel to the SaaS Consulting Group Austin, TX office for company and team off-sites
